Melissa Johnson has been a valued member of the Western Kentucky University (WKU) staff since November 1999. A proud Hilltopper, she attended WKU from 1988 to 1991.

Melissa has volunteered at American Legion Post 23 bingo for 37 years, a tradition rooted in family and service. Her father served as commander of the post for 36 years, instilling in her a deep respect and enduring commitment to veterans and their families.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Melissa enjoys traveling with her mother—also a WKU retiree who continues to work one day a week. She is the proud mother of Justin Johnson and mother-in-law to Kendra Craft, who reside in Paris, Kentucky. Melissa also shares her home with her loyal dog, Lucy.
